Protein is an essential nutrient for everyone, not just athletes and bodybuilders. Most people can get the protein that they require from a good and well-balanced diet. Protein is one of three main macronutrients (the others being carbohydrate and fat). Macronutrients are the chemical compounds that humans ingest most of, giving us most of our energy. Proteins consist of amino acids and are the most regularly found molecules in cells. Our bodies can produce most of the amino acids we need to stay healthy, but there are nine amino acids that we cannot produce and must consume through diet. The nine amino acids that our body cannot create are called essential amino acids. Humans can’t sustain themselves without all nine essential amino acids. Protein is essential to building bones and body tissues, such as muscles, but protein does much more than that. Protein engages in almost every process of a cell. It plays a part in metabolic reactions, immune response, protein provides a source of energy, assists in cellular repair, form blood cells, and more.

Exercise programs need to incorporate nutrition and lifestyle coaching if you are going to get the best results. If you don’t change how you eat, even the intense exercise programs you do won’t change your body no matter what your goals are. Use these done-for-you recipes to deliver your nutrition coaching in a clear & actionable way, so that you stay on track and motivated.
